The Apple LED Cinema Display is a very different monitor for your computer. This is not your usually monitor as it has been created to help you enjoy movies and TV shows in crystal clear images. There are many pros and cons that come with this monitor that make it both great as well as only okay.
The first thing that you notice about the Apple LED Cinema Display is the stylish look of it. The monitor has all the aesthetic value that comes with all Apple products. The stylish silver rim makes it easy to identify and it will fit in with any other Apple products that you have.
The display is possibly the largest advantage to having this product. The crystal clear display makes every movie look good and you will notice things that you never realised were in the show you are watching. Of course, there was little doubt that this monitor would have an amazing display because of the innovations that Apple have made in this area. The display is everything you could hope for and more which makes the monitor well worth the price. The monitor also comes with a camera and a fairly good speaker so you don’t have to worry about the sound. The camera offers fairly decent quality in relation to the pictures and videos that you can capture. There is also a microphone in the monitor so you do not have to worry about the sound when you use the video record.
However, there are a couple of problems that you could find with the display that need to be addressed. The first problem actually relates to the screen. While the display is amazing with the monitor the problem is that the screen is quite reflective. This means that you have to position the monitor so that there is no reflection. Another issue with the screen is that there is very limited adjustability. When you are unable to adjust the monitor you have to have it in the right area at the right height.
Another issue that could cause problems is the ports and buttons on the monitor. The monitor does not have any physical buttons which makes it a bit hard to deal with initially. However, once you know how to work with the monitor then this is no longer a problem. The second problem is that there are not enough USB ports on the monitor. If you want to attach more than a couple of USB devices then you will need to buy an extender. This is slightly annoying, but not an overall deal breaker.
Overall, this is a very good monitor to get. The display is amazing and the build of the monitor is a solid construction that you expect from Apple. However, there are a couple downsides to this display. The reflective nature of the screen and the lack of buttons could be a problem depending on when you use the display and how you want to use it. There are also some people who will find the overall cost of the monitor to be a problem.
